ChemSex refers to the use of specific illicit substances by gay men and Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) before or during sex. Use of these recreational drugs can lower inhibitions and put the particular population that engages in ChemSex at high risk of contracting HIV among other potential risks around overall physical and mental health and safety.

The Programme

Together Psychotherapy is offering a structured 12-week programme in a group setting for individuals who engage in ChemSex and who want to understand and manage the behaviour better. The main focus of the programme is to link a cognitive understanding of the behaviour with the participants’ everyday experience in order to open up choices for a different way of relating to the self and others.

The sessions run for 2 hours per week over a 12-week period. Please contact us for future start dates.

Fee

The fee for the full programme is £1,500. In order to ascertain the suitability of the group for each participant, an assessment session will be carried out prior to the group starting, for which there is a fee of £125. For those who decide to proceed with the group, the assessment fee will be subtracted from the full programme fee. Payment and refund terms are discussed during the assessment.
